Scott Hibbs

Scott Hibbs will enter his fourth year as head coach of the Holy Family women’s volleyball team in 2013.

In his third season, the Tigers finished 13-18 overall and 11-8 in conference play after a slow start in begin the year.  Holy Family went 8-4 in the months of October and November in conference play as the Tigers just missed qualifying for the CACC Tournament.

In 2012, Hibbs guided the Tigers to the team’s best season in program history.  Holy Family finished with a program record 25 victories (25-11) and finished conference play with an 18-1 mark to claim the CACC South Division Regular Season Title outright.  It marked the team’s best-ever finish in conference play and the team’s second straight regular season championship.  The Tigers would go to advance to the CACC Championship Final for the second straight season.

Hibbs had four players earn All-CACC honors and he was named the CACC Coach of the Year for the first time in his career.  He also had a player earn All-East Region honors from Daktronics, Inc.

In his first year at the helm at Holy Family, Hibbs guided the Tigers to a 21-10 overall record and a 16-3 mark in conference play.

In the process, Holy Family claimed a share of the CACC South Division Regular Season Title for the first time in program history. The Tigers advanced all the way to the CACC Championship Final after making their fourth straight postseason appearance.

Hibbs, the program’s third head coach since it was established in 2003, took over for Sue Kilian, who led the Tigers to a 67-79 (.459) record and three CACC tournament appearances in five years.

Prior to joining the Holy Family athletics department, Hibbs was the head coach of the boys’ and girls’ varsity volleyball teams at Council Rock South High School in Holland, Pennsylvania. He has also coached numerous club teams in the area, including Falcon VBC Boys Club, Infinity Volleyball Academy Girls Club and Xceleration VBC Girls Club.

In 2009, Hibbs worked with USA Volleyball High Performance as a camp coach and tryout evaluator. He also coached at the Villanova Volleyball Camp and Gwynedd-Mercy College Volleyball Camp.

A 2004 graduate from East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor of science in health and physical education, Hibbs played for the school’s men’s volleyball team for four seasons. In 2001, he was tabbed as an Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball
Association academic all-American.

Hibbs is a member of USA Volleyball, the American Volleyball Coaches Association and the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association.
