Monica Quinn will enter her third year as head coach of the Holy Family University women's lacrosse team in 2016. Quinn was elevated and named the fourth head coach in program history on Oct. 4, 2013.
In 2015, Quinn was named the CACC Coach of the Year after a record breaking season that was capped off with the program's third CACC Title in four seasons. The team finished 14-3 overall and were a perfect 8-0 in conference play. The Tigers' won their final 12 games setting a new program record for consecutive victories. The team's 14 wins also tied the program record for most in a single season.
In her first season as head coach, Quinn guided the Tigers to a 9-9 overall record and an 8-3 mark in conference play. As a result, the Tigers qualified for the CACC Tournament for the fifth straight year and advanced to the championship final for the third consecutive season.
Quinn spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons as the Tigers' head assistant coach under former head coach Elizabeth Weber who moved on in the same role at Division I Manhattan College. During those two seasons, Holy Family compiled a 27-9 overall record and a 19-3 mark in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
As a result of the team's regular season success, the Tigers advanced to postseason play and won back-to-back CACC Championships in 2012 and 2013.
Prior to joining the Holy Family staff in 2012, Quinn spent two seasons at Division I Villanova University where she served as assistant coach. In her two seasons with the Wildcats, Quinn helped run the women's lacrosse program on and off the field. In addition to on-field instruction, Quinn assisted with recruiting and preparing scouting reports on opponents.
As an undergrad, Quinn was a four-year starter at Catholic University from 2002-2006. She helped lead Catholic to its best season in program history in 2005, a season that included a No. 19 national ranking. She was the third-leading scorer and second in assists during her time at Catholic and served as co-captain during her senior season.
A native of Silver Spring, Md., Quinn was a three-sport athlete at St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C., where she played lacrosse, soccer and basketball.
During her time at Catholic, Quinn served as a coach and administrator for PlayHer Sports Girls Lacrosse League in Rockville, Md.
