Ryan Haigh was named the fifth head coach in program history at his alma mater on May 15, 2019, after spending the previous eight seasons as an assistant coach. He enters his sixth year as head coach in 2024-25.
As an assistant coach his specialties included working with the perimeter players and advanced scouting, and he was also heavily involved in the recruiting aspect of the program.
During his tenure as an assistant, HFU advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament six times, highlighted by winning the program's first league title in 2015-16. That year Holy Family won 26 games, the most in the program's Division II era, and the Tigers would go on to earn its second NCAA Tournament berth as the number one seed, becoming the first CACC men's basketball team to host a regional.
Haigh coached 15 All-Conference honorees in those eight seasons, including two CACC Defensive Players of the Year in Isaiah Gans (2014-15) and Derrick Stewart (2015-16). He also coached 2018-19 Rookie of the Year Patrick Robinson.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, he spent two seasons (2008-2010) at Gwynedd-Mercy College as an assistant coach. The 2008-09 squad won the CSAC regular season and conference tournament titles, finishing with a 23-6 record and advancing to the round of 32 in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
He began his coaching career in the summer of 2007 as head coach of the 16U Philadelphia Patriots AAU Team, earning a bid to the AAU Nationals while featuring several future Division I players.
Haigh received his degree in elementary education from Holy Family in 2006.
A four-year letterwinner, he finished his career fifth in program history with 1,679 points, and he also ranks in the record book in three-pointers made (278 - 4th), steals (174 - 5th), field goals made (572 - 6th) and assists (416 - 9th).
A native of Philadelphia, Haigh attended Father Judge High School and earned All-League First Team honors in the Philadelphia Catholic League in 2002.
