Richie Dunham

Richie Dunham joined the Holy Family men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2025-2026 season.
 
He joined HFU after coaching at his alma mater, Gwynedd Mercy University, under Head Coach John Baron, helping lead the team to a 21-5 record and developing players that are now overseas, including one currently playing in Portugal.
 
Dunham began his coaching career in 2021 as the head junior varsity girls’ basketball coach at Pope John Paul II High School in Montgomery County, Pa, where he also served as an assistant on the boys’ varsity team during the 2023-2024 campaign.
 
Prior to his coaching appointments at Pope John Paul, he played professionally for Ireland Basketball’s Killarney Cougars (2021) and Tralee Warriors (2022).
 
Collegiately, Dunham stands as Gwynedd Mercy University’s all-time leader in both free throws made (350) and steals (218), while ranking among the program’s top five in three-point percentage (.418), free throw percentage (.839), points (1,605), assists (384), field goals made (551), points per game (14.3) and 3-pointers made (153).
 
He was the 2016-2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Rookie of the Year and earned All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) First Team honors in both 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, while leading the Griffins on respective runs to the NCAA and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men’s Basketball Tournaments.
