PHILADELPHIA – In a battle of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division co-champions, it was the HFU Women's Volleyball Team prevailing over Wilmington in five sets (23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 15-12) in the two teams' league-opener on Tuesday evening inside of the Campus Center.
Holy Family overcame a 1-7 deficit in the fifth, eventually tallying the final five points as back-to-back
Grace Sims (Glenwood Springs, Colo./Glenwood Springs) kills completed the comeback.
Individual Highlights
- Sims fell one dig shy of making it four Tigers to record double-doubles as she finished with 10 kills
- Mia Wise (Genoa, Ill./Genoa-Kingston) led all players with 41 assists and added a career-high 17 digs for her sixth double-double of the season
- Gianna DiPilato (Verbank, N.Y./Millbrook) posted her second career double-double with a team-best 19 kills and a career-high 16 digs
- Mackenzie Layton (Clarksboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) tied a match-best with five aces and contributed 15 kills and 13 digs for her fifth double-double of the year
- Allana Johnson (Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook) paced all players with a season-high five blocks
- Grace Kravcak (Southampton, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) led Holy Family with a season-best 21 digs

- Wilmington stormed back to win the first set with the final five points
- Trailing 17-18 in the second, Layton scored twice in four unanswered as HFU took control to even the match

- Down by as many as nine early in the fourth, HFU stormed back to get as close as 22-23 but could not complete the comeback
