PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University Men's Soccer Team earned its first point against West Chester since 2002, drawing 0-0 with the Golden Rams in its home-opener at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon.
In an evenly matched contest in which both teams had nine attempts, HFU outshot WCU 7-2 in the second half, with
Luiz Recchimuzzi (Bahia, Brazil/Life Center Academy) firing on net twice and
Diego Palomera Herrera (Cantabria, Spain/Erie Prep) and
Chamar Blanchard (Bridgetown, Barbados/Cheltenham) also being denied.
Both of the Golden Rams' second half attempts were headers inside of six-yard box that were saved at point blank range by
Bruno Mestres (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Mackenzie Tambore).
Mestres totaled four stops in the shutout.
Playing defensively in the shutout were
