PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University Baseball Team used a three-run eighth to overcome Georgian Court 9-7 and complete a weekend sweep of the Lions on Sunday at Father Judge High School.
Trailing 6-7, pinch-hitter
Alex Camilo (Cambridge, Ontario/Monsignor Doyle (Alliance University)) led off with a walk and after the first out,
Jalen David (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond) singled to bring
Andres Rivera (Silver Spring, Md./Woodrow Wilson (Montgomery College)) to the plate for the game-winning two-RBI triple.
Perry Chetney (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville (Millersville University)) then added unneeded insurance with an RBI single, before
Trevor Morris (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) earned his second save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
That sealed the win for
Zach Lane (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle (McCook CC)), who gave up one earned over two relief innings after
Ryan McLaughlin (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem (Manhattan University)) threw the first six frames.
David led the offense with his third four-hit performance in eight games, as he finished 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.
Rivera went 2-for-3 with the triple, two hit-by-pitches, two runs and two RBI, while Chetney was 2-for-4 with a run, RBI and base on balls.
Trailing 0-3 entering the bottom of the fifth, HFU batted around as
Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham (Mercer County CC)) and
Logan Mote (Branchburg, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's School (Lackawanna College)) both recorded two-RBI singles in the five-run frame.
Georgian Court scored twice in both the sixth and seventh though, sandwiching a David RBI single in the sixth.
