WILMINGTON, Del. – The Holy Family University Men's Soccer Team netted twice in the final 25:39 in a 2-0 win at Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday afternoon.
Rafael Gouvea (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Life Center Academy) opened the scoring with his first collegiate goal, slotting into the left corner after
Mamadou Nianghane (Dakar, Senegal/Abraham Lincoln) found him at the top of the box.
Ever Maradiaga (Edgewater Park, N.J./Life Center Academy) then provided unneeded insurance with just over 10 minutes remaining, tapping in when
Ricardo Paniccia Giraldez (O Porriño, Spain/IES Pino Manso) found him at the back post.
Jackson Kiss (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) also earned an assist, as he switched play to find Paniccia at the right endline.
Nianghane's assist was his first of the year, while Paniccia and Kiss are now tied with
Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School) for the team lead with three apiece.
Maradiaga, meanwhile, is tied for the team lead with Paniccia,
Kevin Castro (Bensalem, Pa./Father Judge) and
Luiz Recchimuzzi (Bahia, Brazil/Life Center Academy) with two goals.
Bruno Mestres (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Mackenzie Tambore) made four saves in his third shutout of the season, with Paniccia, Kiss,
Jarrett Lalli (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and
Aimeric Mouliom (Paris, France/Lycée Marie Curie) playing defensively in front of him.
The Tigers notably more than doubled up the Lightning in attempts on goal, 9-4, on the afternoon.
