PHILADELPHIA –
Allison Devine (Douglassville, Pa./Berks Catholic) and
Kayla Balisalisa (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) both scored from outside of the box, within 3:40 of either side of halftime, to help the lead HFU Women's Soccer Team to a 2-2 draw with Chestnut Hill on Wednesday night at Tiger Field.
Devine opened the scoring 3:35 ahead of the break, with an assist from
Samantha Pastino (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), before
Kenna Rozanski (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) set up Balisalisa to make it 2-0 with 41:20 to go.
It was the first goal of the season, and the second career score, for both.
Pastino now leads Holy Family with three assists, while Rozanki's was her first of the year.
Carly Fox (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy (Penn State Berks)) headed wide 5:24 after Balisalisa's score, and CHC turned up the pressure from there with the next six attempts.
The Griffins halved the deficit in that stretch, with just under 31 minutes remaining, before Fox forced a saved with another header in the 66th.
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) made her third and final save just over five minutes later, but Chestnut Hill was able to equalize with just 7:51 left.
One final Griffin shot went wide in the 85th minute.
In the first half, Preuhs made the only save 5:13 in as no one else was able to find the frame until Devine's strike.
Balisalisa then found the back of the net with the first attempt of the second.
