BRIDGEPORT, Conn. –
Rianna Shields' (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) goal 43 seconds into overtime gave the HFU women's lacrosse team a 9-8 triumph at Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon, securing the Tigers' fifth consecutive appearance in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament.
The Purple Knights scored the last three goals of regulation, all in the fourth quarter, to send the game to overtime, which began with a draw control by
Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic).
Individual Highlights
- Wolstenholme led all players with 10 draw controls, five ground balls, three goals, three assists and three assists
- Already the program's all-time leader in draw controls, the graduate student moved into second all-time with 163 ground balls and 56 assists
- Shields had three caused turnovers too, and was second on HFU with four draw controls and two goals
- The senior is now fourth in program history with 61 caused turnovers
- Payton Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) also had five ground balls to move into fourth in program history with 144 for her career
- Taina Harkins (Hopewell, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) and Lexi Ryan (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) both had three caused turnovers too, with Harkins netting a brace and Ryan scoring as well
- Julie Gallardo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Township) rounded out the scoring
- Nicole Wiser (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) made eight saves to pick up her fourth win in her last five appearances in net

How it Happened
- After a scoreless first, UB opened the second with five of the first six goals for a 1-5 edge with 4:35 left in the first half
- Harkins and Ryan scored 21 seconds apart to cut the deficit to 3-5 entering the break
- HFU then outscored the Purple Knights 5-0 in the third, completing seven unanswered, with Wolstenholme both starting and ending a stretch that took just 3:13
