Holy Family University received three weekly Awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on March 3.
Softball's
Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) was honored as the Player of the Week, while men's lacrosse's
James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) and
Xander Kelly (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) have been named the respective CACC Goalkeeper and CACC Rookie of the Week.
Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) – CACC Softball Player of the Week
Ciasullo had an OPS of 1.625 as she went 6-for-12 with two home runs, four-hit-by-pitches, four RBI and two runs in HFU's season-opening week.
She began the year reaching base multiple times in both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against nationally-ranked Kutztown, finishing 3-for-5 with two hit-by-pitches and an RBI.
Ciasullo then went 2-for-3 with a home run in game two of Friday's doubleheader with Millersville, before hitting another homer at West Chester on Saturday.
James Demakopoulos (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) – CACC Goalkeeper of the Week
Demakopoulos went 2-0 with a.656 save percentage and 7.33 goals against average.
After saving six of seven attempts on net in Wednesday's win over Rosemont, he stopped 15 of the 25 he faced in Saturday's 11-10 triumph at Virginia State.
Xander Kelly (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) – CACC Rookie of the Week
Kelly had nine goals, three ground balls and a caused turnover in the 2-0 week.
After posting a game-high eight goals in Wednesday's 22-4 win over Rosemont, the redshirt-freshman had a goal and three ground balls in Saturday's triumph at Virginia State.
