PHILADELPHIA – The HFU flag football team picked up its first two wins program history, defeating Centenary 12-7 and Penn State Schuylkill 15-13 on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Holy Family rallied from a deficit in both games, including outscoring the Nittany Lions 15-0 in the second half.
Individual Highlights
- Aalyce Davis (Philadelphia, Pa./Bethel Baptist Academy) led HFU in rushing in both contests, totaling 106 yards highlighted by the game-winning 39-yard touchdown against Centenary
- She added a team-high three receptions and 25 receiving yards versus the Cyclones, before topping the Tigers with six tackles in the nightcap
- Morgan Sims (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) recorded a touchdown and interception in both games
- Jalissa Dales (Philadelphia, Pa./Abraham Lincoln) went 5-for-6 with two touchdowns against Penn State, while Aleyandra Bartley (Philadelphia, Pa./Abraham Lincoln) totaled a team-high 19 receiving yards
- Grace Bergmark (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) led Holy Family with six tackles in the win over Centenary, before recording her first career interception versus the Nittany Lions
- Kierann Cusick (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) also recorded her first career interception, picking off a pass in the opener
