No. 20 Women’s Basketball’s Win Streak Snapped by Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 20 Holy Family University women's basketball team's 10-game win streak was snapped by Chestnut Hill, 47-68, on Wednesday night inside of the Campus Center.

Individual Highlights
  • Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) had double the amount of rebounds as any other player, 16, and added a team-high 14 points for her fourth consecutive double-double and 12th of the season
  • Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) was also in double-figures with 10 points, and she led all players with three blocks
  • Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) added eight points and a team-high three assists, while Amy Ngo (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) tied a game-high with two steals

How it Happened
  • After four lead changes and three ties in the opening five and a half minutes, CHC took control with a 1-11 run that was broken when a Lola Ibarrondo (Bristol, Pa./Neshaminy) layup ended the first quarter scoring to cut the deficit to 12-19
  • Chestnut Hill began the second quarter with the first seven points though, completing a 3-18 stretch, and the Griffins would close out the half with back-to-back baskets for a first-half-high 18-35 cushion at the break
  • Holy Family managed to get no closer than 15 in the second half
