PHILADELPHIA – The HFU volleyball team nearly came back from a 0-2 deficit to force a fifth set, but Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division leader Wilmington would tally the final three points of the match in a four-set victory over the Tigers (18-25, 22-25, 25-17, 23-25) on Wednesday evening inside of the Campus Center.
Individual Highlights
- Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) led all players with a career-best 22 digs and added 12 kills for her fifth double-double of the year
- Mackenzie Layton (Clarksboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) also posted a match-high with 18 kills, one shy of a season-best
- Mia Wise (Genoa, Ill./Genoa-Kingston) had more than double the amount of assists as any other player with 48 to move into ninth in the program's single-season history with 952 on the year
- She added 14 digs for her sixth double-double of the season
- Kalia Espenlaub (New Market, Md./Saint John's Catholic Prep (Millersville)) also reached double-digit kills, while matching Sam Swenby (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen (Loch Haven)) with a team-high two blocks
- Cadence Palmer (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) (15) and Jayden Bralts (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) made it four Tigers with double-digit digs, a season-best for the latter

- Holy Family's 80 digs were a new season-high, and the Tigers also had more kills and assists, but WilmU held major advantages in aces (4-11) and blocks (3-8)
How it Happened
- After Wilmington took the commanding 0-2 lead with four of the final four points of the second set, HFU never trailed in the third
- The Tigers looked poised to force a fifth set when two kills by Kinzer sandwiched a Kidd kill for a 23-22 edge in the fifth, but the Wildcats would tally the final three points of the match
