PHILADELPHIA –
Kenna Rozanski's (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) goal just 2:44 into the action turned out to be the match's only goal as HFU women's soccer picked up a crucial Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory at Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon.
Following a corner kick, the freshman was the first to pounce as the ball was knocked down in the center of the box.
Rozanski now leads Holy Family with two game-winning goals on the year.
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) and the defense took over from there as the junior tied a career-high with 11 saves to become the seventh Tiger in program history to surpass 200 in a career. She also moved into a tie for 10th all-time with 13 wins
Three of those stops came in the final four minutes as UB pushed for a late equalizer, highlighted by an impressive one-handed one in the closing seconds.
Helping protect Preuhs' net in the backline, forcing long shots and making nothing easy, included
Julia Leibig (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem),
Kayla Balisalisa (North Wales, Pa./North Penn),
Jessica Levush (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge),
Samantha Pastino (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan),
Karli Farrell (Philadelpiha, Pa./Pre-Physical Therapy),
Amelia Brown (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) and
Rylee Kaufmann (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury).
