PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University volleyball team kicked off TigerFest with a 3-1 victory (25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21) over Dominican inside of the Campus Center on Saturday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- Leah Logan (Bloomfield, N.J./Abundant Life Academy) and Kalia Espenlaub (New Market, Md./Saint John's Catholic Prep (Millersville)) dominated at the net as they both fell one shy of a program record for a four-set match with seven blocks, a career-high for the latter
- Espenalub added 11 kills on .321 hitting and Logan tied a career-best with 10 on .600 hitting
- Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) led all players with 16 digs and added a team-high 13 kills for her third double-double of the season
- Mackenzie Layton (Clarksboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) and Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle (Saint Anselm)) made it five Tigers in double-figures as they both finished with 11 kills, with Layton adding a match-best four aces
- Mia Wise (Genoa, Ill./Genoa-Kingston) led all players with 49 assists
- Morgan Marziani-Radomski (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) was second on Holy Family with nine digs

How it Happened
- Trailing 13-15 in the first set, Holy Family rattled off seven successive points, both beginning and ending with a point by Kidd
- The Tigers then overcame a 16-20 deficit in the second as six straight points began a set-ending 9-2 surge that featured three points from Espenlaub
- Holy Family also trailed by as many as four in the fourth, before Espenalub was again involved in a 6-1 run
