Men’s Basketball Opens 2025 Versus Post

PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University men's basketball team opened its 2025 calendar year against Post on Saturday, falling to the Eagles 58-73 inside of the Campus Center. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Tairi Ketner (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) led HFU with 17 points on 7-of-12 field goals, while Najee Coursey (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Cedar Creek) joined him in double-figures with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting
  • CJ Mundell (Somerdale, N.J./Sterling) topped the Tigers with nine rebounds and three assists, to go along with seven points
  • Vernon Johnson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) and Ryan Holmes (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter School) tied a game-high with two steals

How it Happened
  • Holy Family responded to Post's nine unanswered with 10 of its own to go up 20-19 on a Coursey jumper with 3:11 left in the first
  • The Eagles came right back with a 2-11 flurry that ended in the final minute, before two Coursey free throws made it 24-30 entering the locker room 
  • HFU got as close as three, 32-35, on a Karrington Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) basket four minutes into the second, but Post answered with six in a row
  • The Tigers again made it a two-possession game, 36-41, on an Omarion Jett (Montclair, N.J./Saint Benedict's Prep) turnaround with 12:37 to play, but this time the Eagles tallied six straight to complete a 12-4 run for the game's first double-digit advantage
