The Holy Family University men have finished second in the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Sportsmanship standings that were released on Tuesday.
Each team sportsmanship award is voted on by the league's head coaches in their respective sport. Head coaches speak with their student-athletes prior to voting to gain feedback on which opposing teams demonstrated outstanding class and character throughout the season.
The standings are then determined by tallying the total number of sportsmanship votes an institution received over the course of the year and dividing that total by the by the number of sports the institution competes in.
Holy Family averaged 13.83 votes to place second behind Georgian Court's 15.80.
Men's lacrosse led the way with 31 votes as it received the team sportsmanship in the program's first season. Baseball and men's track & field were both third in their sports with 17 and 12 votes, respectively, while men's basketball (12 votes) and men's cross country (9) each finished in the top five.
The CACC also announced the final Restaino Cup standings for 2023-24, with the HFU men placing 11th.
The point system used for the all-sports award considers each athletic program's finish in both the 2023-24 CACC regular season and conference tournaments. Each institution receives a combined point total, and the sum is then divided by the number of sports the institution competes in.
Holy Family averaged 6.0417 points, bolstered by men's track & field's 12 for winning the program's first league title.
