HFU men's basketball's
Vernon Johnson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) has received two academic honors, earning his third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team selection and second CSC Academic All-District® Team nod.
Johnson was one of 22 players in the 12-team league that was named CACC All-Academic, which requires a student-athlete:
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term
- have a minimum of two semesters enrolled as a full-time student at a member institution
- be a second-year student-athlete at a member institution
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Basketball Team®, a student-athlete must:
- be at least a sophomore academically and athletically
- have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA
- compete in 90 percent of the institution's games OR start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games
