Women’s Lacrosse Begins Spring Break Trip at Palm Beach Atlantic

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team played its first of two games in Florida this week, falling at Palm Beach Atlantic 7-18. 
 
Both teams had a run in the first quarter, with PBA tallying the first seven goals before the Tigers came back with the next three. 
 
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower Catholic) and Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) both had a goal and assist in the stretch, with Wolstenholme setting up Rianna Shields (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) to make it 3-7 with 2:33 left in the opening period. 
 
The Sailfish would close out the first quarter scoring though, before winning the second 1-4 to take a 4-12 halftime lead.  
 
Individual Highlights
  • Kilkenny and Wolstenholme bot recorded hat tricks, with Kilkenny also trying a career-best with two assists
    • Wolstenholme added a game-high three caused turnovers and two draw controls to move into third in program history with 57 career caused turnovers and fourth all-time with 184 career draw controls
  • Payton Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) led all players with five draw controls and had two caused turnovers to move into a tie for fourth in program history with 55 for her career 
  • Pugh and Shields both had an assist, while Shields' score moved her into a tie for seventh in program history with 123 for her career
  • Olivia Kueny (West Deptford, N.J./Holy Cross Preparatory Academy) made a season-best 17 saves
  • Emilia Pater (Philadelphia, Pa./The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush) matched Kilkenny, Shields, Pugh and Kueny with a team-high two ground balls
