BENSALEM, Pa. – Two first inning home runs were all
Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River (Mount Olive)) would need in a 6-1 game two win, as the HFU softball team split a doubleheader with Lock Haven on Tuesday afternoon at Bensalem High School.
The Bald Eagles had held on for a 3-4 victory in the opener.
Individual Highlights
- Hall earned her second complete game win of the year, striking out a season-high 13
- Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) had two hits and an RBI in both games, finishing the doubleheader 4-for-6 with a double and two RBI
- Alexis Letizia (Toms River, N.J./Donovan Catholic) also reached twice in both games, going 3-for-6 with a home run, hit-by-pitch and three RBI
- Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) went back-to-back with Letizia in the first inning of the nightcap to move into ninth in program history with 14 career homers
- Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) finished a perfect 2-for-2 with a home run in game one
- Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) threw three scoreless innings of relief in the opener, in which she allowed three hits with three strikeouts and no walks
How it Happened
Second Game
- Holy Family scored in each of its first four at-bats, and Hall stranded a runner in all seven frames, including the bases loaded in the third
First Game
- Grubb got things started with a leadoff homer, but LHU came with runs in each of its next three at-bats to establish a 4-1 lead
- HFU chipped away with Paige Tidaback's (Carteret, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas) leadoff double in the fourth leading to a run on Hagy's RBI single, and the Tigers cut the deficit to 3-4 in the fifth after loading the bases with none away
- Singles by Gina Olivieri (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Charter School) and Letizia sandwiched a Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) hit-by-pitch, but HFU could only plate one on Letizia's single
- That came after stranding two in the fourth, and the Tigers were not able to threaten in the sixth or seventh
