PHILADELPHIA – After dropping the first set (19-25), the HFU volleyball team rallied to take the final three (25-21, 25-19, 25-18) for a crucial Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win inside of the Campus Center on Wednesday night.
The Tigers notably ended the match on a 9-0 run on Jaden Bralts' serve, with
Morgan Steck (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) and
Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle (Saint Anselm)) both playing a part in multiple points.
Individual Highlights
- Steck led all players with 44 assists and added 12 digs for her third double-double of the season, while Kidd contributed 11 kills on .346 hitting
- Bralts paced Holy Family with a season-best 13 kills, while tying a match-high with three aces
- Leah Logan (Bloomfield, N.J./Abundant Life Academy) had double the amount of blocks as any other player with six, to go along with 10 kills on .533 hitting to sets new season-bests in both
- Kalia Espenlaub (New Market, Md./Saint John's Catholic Prep (Millersville)) was second on HFU with a season-high four blocks
- Cadence Palmer (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) topped the Tigers with 14 digs, while Brianna Moss (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) added a season-best nine

- Goldey-Beacom took control of the first set with a 2-10 surge to go ahead 18-22
- The Lightning then led by as many as five early in the second, 4-9, only for HFU to use five unanswered featuring three Kidd kills to break a 13-13 tie
- Goldey-Beacom again led by five early in the third, 3-8, but Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) had two kills in a 3-0 stretch that broke a 15-15 deadlock to give the Tigers the lead for good
