Men’s Basketball Falls at Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Holy Family University men's basketball team fell at Felician, 49-71, on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Ethan Pires (Dover, Del./The Pennington School (Millersville University)) produced the game's second-highest point total with 16 as he made 4-of-8 3-pointers
  • Jake McGonigle (Ocean City, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) led HFU with three assists, while matching Jason Shields (Scranton, Pa./Scranton (Jefferson University)) with a team-high two steals
  • David Robinson Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) topped the Tigers with five rebounds, while Vernon Johnson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) was second with eight points
 
How it Happened
  • Felician scored the first four points and led throughout, despite an Aamir Hurst (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann Goretti) 3-pointer cutting the deficit 3-4 2:44 in
  • The Golden Falcons responded with 18 unanswered as part of a 3-22 run over the opening 7:38
  • HFU fought back to within 18-25 as both Robinson Jr. and Pries netted six points apiece in a 15-3 surge, capped by Pries connecting on a triple with 5:23 left in the first half
  • A Ryan Holmes (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter School (CC of Philadelphia)) 3-pointer also cut the deficit to 21-30 3:10 ahead of the break, but Felician stole the momentum back with a half-ending 9-2 flurry over the final 2:56 for a 23-39 advantage entering the locker room
