PHILADELPHIA – The HFU volleyball team led by as five in each set, but the Tigers were ultimately swept (30-32, 24-26, 21-25) by defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) champion Jefferson on Wednesday evening at the Campus Center.
Individual Highlights
- Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) fell one kill shy of a match-high with 15, which tied a career-best
- Maeve Boylan (Ridley Township, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) finished second with 19 digs, a new career-best, while tying for a match-high with two aces
- Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle (Saint Anselm)) finished third with 12 kills, one shy of a career-best, on a match-high 360 hitting
- Ashley Petrasovic (Queens, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy Memorial) also fell a kill shy of a career-high with eight, on .316 hitting, while her two blocks were a new career-best
- Natasha Yanief (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) added seven kills, while leading all players with four blocks
- Faith Zehnder (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) (15) and Keira Rogan (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) (10) had double-digit digs too, tying a season-high for the latter
- Morgan Steck (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) and Kyla Sayson (Sewell, N.J./Gloucester Institute of Technology) contributed 22 and 19 assists, respectively, with Sayson adding two aces

How it Happened
First Set
- Holy Family scored nine of the first 11 points, thanks to three Kinzer kills, but Jefferson came back to take its first lead at 16-17 and eventually staved off six set points
Second Set
- HFU scored four of the first five points, with two Kinzer kills, and did not trail until four consecutive points made it 20-21
- The Tigers staved off a set point for a second time (once in the first), but a service error and ace made it 0-2
Third Set
- Holy Family led by as many as six four times, including at 16-10, but a 2-10 surge gave put Jefferson ahead for good
