Thiago Lage (Minas Gerais, Brazil/Abington) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his performance in HFU's 4-3 triumph over Bentley on Saturday.
The sophomore netted his first two career goals, including the game-winner with 2:13 remaining via an individual run down the right side and ensuing strike into the top right corner.
Lage's first score, the first of his collegiate career, came from a Falcons mistake just over three minutes before the break.
Gavin Rowan's (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) long switch of play led to a defender attempting a back-pass to the goalkeeper, but Lage intercepted it, dribbled around the keeper and calmly slotted home for a 2-1 halftime advantage.
The Minas Gerias, Brazil native also peppered the frame twice in the 83rd minute, forecasting what was to come moments later as his four shots on net were double the amount of any other player.
