Holy Family University Director of Athletics Tim Hamill has announced the promotion of four staff members – Jami Hughes, Bernadette Laukaitis, Sara Miraglia and Zachary Durham – to align with the department's growth.
"Our department has undergone many changes over the last year, and we are excited to continue to progress. These promotions will allow us to provide more resources, support and opportunities for our growing student-athlete population and coaching staff," said Hamill. "Jami, Bernadette, Sara and Zach are committed to enhancing the student-athlete experience, and I look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in their new roles."
Jami Hughes | Senior Woman Administrator (SWA)
The assistant athletic director for daily operations since Nov. 2014, in charge of coordinating and supervising all of the department's events among many other things, Hughes adds the title of senior woman administrator (SWA). The senior woman administrator is the highest-ranking female in each NCAA athletic department. The purpose of the SWA designation is to promote meaningful representation of women in the leadership and management of college sports.
Bernadette Laukaitis | Assistant Athletic Director
Entering her fifth year as head women's basketball coach, Laukaitis adds the title of assistant athletic director. Holy Family has advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Semifinals in two of her three seasons, including the championship game in 2020. Additionally, Laukaitis serves as the advisor for HFU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, leading the Tigers to the 2022-23 CACC Community Engagement Award.
Sara Miraglia | Assistant Athletic Director – Sports Medicine
Miraglia has been the head athletic trainer since her hiring in Sept. 2019. During that time she has revitalized the department, making significant improvements to the athletic training facilities in order to treat student-athletes more efficiently and effectively. Additionally, she has served the campus community as an adjunct faculty member since 2021.
Zachary Durham | Assistant Athletic Director – Sports Information
Durham was hired as the sports information director in June 2022. Over the last year he has spearheaded the social media growth of HFU athletics, while managing all communications responsibilities for a department that has grown from 13 to 18 programs during his short tenure.
