How it Happened
- Wilmington scored the initial four goals in the opening 7:39, but HFU would net two of the final three of the first quarter, via Rachael Sepcic (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville (Georgian Court/Rowan)) and Shields, for a 2-5 score-line after 15 minutes of play

- Wilmington also led 4-9 with 8:22 on the clock, but back-to-back scores by Shields and Hardy, which completed a first half hat trick for Shields, cut the deficit to 6-9 just 1:03 later
- The Wildcats closed the half with the final two tallies though, including one 26 before the buzzer for a 6-11 halftime lead
- It took just 16 seconds for Shields to answer WilmU opening the third period scoring, making it 7-12 with 12:09 left in the quarter, but HFU could never get closer
