MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Holy Family University softball team opened its 2023 season with a doubleheader at Millersville on Sunday, dropping 0-8 and 3-11 decisions to the Marauders.
Individual Highlights
- Freshman Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) reached base twice in her collegiate debut in game one, finishing 1-for-2 with a walk, while fellow freshman Paige Tidaback (Carteret, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas) notably picked up her first collegiate hit in the opener too

How it Happened
Game Two
- Jones' leadoff walk got the Tigers started as Clayborne's two-RBI fielder's choice followed an error for an early 2-0 lead
- After Millersville cut the deficit in half in the bottom-half, the Moser sisters re-established a two-run cushion in the second as Dana Moser (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan (Stockton)) led off with a double and Deanna Moser (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) drove her in with a one-out single
- Again the Marauders had an answer in the bottom-half though, this time going ahead 3-4 thanks to two unearned runs
- HFU got two runners into scoring position to no avail in the third, and Millersville took control with a three-run homer in the fourth
Game One
- Two walks and a two-out single led to Millersville opening the scoring in the first, before the Marauders broke open the game with a five two-out runs in the second
