PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University men's soccer team's 2023 campaign came to an end with a 0-3 loss to Jefferson on Wednesday evening at Tiger Field.
Cheikh Diouf (Dakar, Senegal/MLK) made a save 8:18 in and
Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa./Abington) had a header stopped just over two minutes later, but the Rams opened the scoring in the 19th.
Jefferson then made it 2-0 in the 25th minute, just 32 seconds after
Tajhay Williams (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College) was denied from potentially equalizing.
Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) also had an attempt saved in the 37th, before the Rams closed out the scoring via a penalty 3:16 ahead of the half.
Holy Family outshot Jefferson 6-5 in the second half but could never cut into the deficit, despite
Deshawn Bernard (Portmore, Jamaica/Wolmer's Boys School) firing on net in the 51st minute.
