Volleyball Welcomes Parisi and Smith to Staff

Holy Family University Head Volleyball Collin Sibilia is pleased to welcome Matt Parisi and Angie Smith to his staff assistant coaches.

"I am very excited to welcome both Matt and Angie to the coaching staff," said Sibilia. "They both offer a lot of volleyball knowledge, along with positive attitudes and a kind heart. Angie and I have worked together for three years, and Matt and I have known one another for close to a decade. I am lucky to have them both, and I cannot wait to get going with the season!"

Matt Parisi
Parisi began his coaching career with the South Jersey Volleyball Club 17 ELITE team in 2014, a position he still holds, and he has also been coaching at the Great American Volleyball Sumer Beach Clinic since 2017.

A four-year varsity letterwinner at Cherry Hill High School West, Parisi was inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame in 2020.

He continued his playing career as member of the club team at Temple University, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, with a minor in Management Information Systems, from the Fox School of Business in 2009.

Following graduation Parisi became a member of the SWAGGER Men's Volleyball Club, with whom he played for 11 years.

Angie Smith
Smith brings with her extensive knowledge of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), having spent the previous eight years at fellow league member University of the Sciences, the final five of which were as the head coach.

There she improved USciences' CACC finish in each of her four seasons as the head coach (the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID), as the Devils' 12 overall wins in 2019 and nine CACC victories in both 2019 and 2021 were their most since 2013.

University of the Sciences also registered its first four-match win streak since 2014 in 2019, while its fifth place finish in the CACC South Division in 2021 was its best since 2015.

Smith brought 15+ years of coaching experience to USciences, having started coaching right out of high school for her local middle school program. She quickly moved up through the ranks, taking charge of the freshmen team as well as becoming an assistant for the varsity program.

In 2005, she made the move to the east coast and quickly immersed herself in the volleyball community. After being hired at Division III Rutgers-Camden in 2007 and spending a season with the Scarlet Raptors, she moved on to another NCAA Division III program at Rowan University in 2009, where she stayed for two years.

Smith has also coached at the club level, having worked with East Coast Crush Volleyball Club (2008-2012) and Quandomania Volleyball Club (2012–2017), serving as the social media and communications director for the latter.

Originally from Michigan, Smith played volleyball all four years in high school and earned numerous varsity letters and all-conference mentions.

She graduated from Grand Valley State University in Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration.
