BENSALEM, Pa. - The Holy Family University softball team lost 10-2 and 6-3 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders ended game one in six innings while game two saw the Holy Family offense pick up, but ultimately fall just short.

How It Happened (Game 1)
* Shippensburg dropped three runs in the first capitalizing on four walks from freshman pitcher
Jalecia Blackston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Technical). The Raiders made it 4-0 in the third off an RBI single from Aryanna Briddell.
* Briddell capped off a four-run fourth with a two-RBI single making it 8-0.
*Holy Family scored two runs off of a couple Shippensburg errors to keep the game going. Ultimately, two unanswered runs in the sixth from the Raiders ended it.
Inside the Box Score (Game 1)
* Alicia Ball recorded the win for Shippensburg. She went into the sixth without allowing a hit before senior
Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) and freshman
Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) each recorded singles to break up the no-hitter. Ball ended with seven strikeouts and no earned runs.
* Blackston recorded the loss allowing eight runs, four earned, off of six hits while striking out four. Millers came in relief for two innings allowing two runs off of three hits.
* For the Raiders, Briddell recorded two hits and three RBI while teammate Hannah Marsteller notched two hits and an RBI.
How It Happened (Game 2)
* Marsteller sent a shot to center field in the first inning. The Tigers immediately responded in the bottom of the inning when freshman
Alexis Letitzia (Toms River, N.J./Donovan Catholic) hit an RBI sac fly.
* After a scoreless second and third, the Raiders put two more on the board to go up 3-1. Holy Family tied it back up right away in the bottom of the inning off of an RBI single from junior
Devyn Dydak (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy). Senior
Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) also recorded an RBI in the inning.
* Shippensburg scored a run in each of the next three innings including two solo shots from Marsteller to seal the win.
Inside the Box Score (Game 2)
* Smith, Dydak and Letitzia recorded the only hits for the Tigers in the game.
* Junior
Makenna Patterson (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) recorded the loss going seven innings allowing five earned runs off of 11 hits while striking out five.
* Emma Flattery recorded the win in relief throwing 3.2 innings allowing two hits and striking out eight.
* Marsteller led Shippensburg with three hits and three RBI.

Today marked the third and fourth meetings between Holy Family and
Shippensburg since the start of the 2019 season. The Tigers are now 0-4 versus the Raiders in the all-time series.
