Shields Leads Tigers in Win Against Chestnut Hill

Philadelphia, PA. – The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team defeated Chestnut Hill College, 17-8 in CACC action.

How It Happened

  • Chestnut Hill netted the first goal in the game, but Holy Family scored four goal to end the first period to take a 4-1 lead. 
  • The Tigers would exchange goals in the second period, to go into the half with a 6-3 lead.
  • The Griffins would score five goals in the second half of the game, but the Tigers would score 10 goals to win the game. 
  • Holy Family controlled the draw most of the game with a 23-6 margin. 
  • Tigers outshot the Griffins 39-26.
  • Holy Family picked up 26 ground balls to Chestnut Hill's 22.

* Junior Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic) put in three goals on four shots, while winning 11 draw controls and picking up seven ground balls.
* Sophomore Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) scored two goals. 
* Seniors Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) and Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) notched one goal and one assist each.
* Freshman Payton Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) and Sophomore Julianna Fernandez (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) put in one goal a piece.
* Junior goalkeeper Caitlyn Musick (Bensalem, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) picked up the win in net as she made eight of saves for the Tigers.

Today's match marked the 19th meeting between Holy Family and Chestnut Hill since the start of the 2009 season.  The Tigers are now 13-6 versus the Griffins all-time in the series.
