Tigers Fall to Chargers in CACC Matchup



Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-7 defeat against visiting Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Saturday afternoon at New Tiger Field.

How It Happened
 
* Holy Family jumped out to a 2-1 lead after receiving early scores from sophomore Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) and junior Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic).  However, Dominican scored the final four goals of the opening quarter to lead 5-2.
 
* The Chargers' momentum carried over into the second quarter by scoring the first two goals to increase their lead to 7-2.  Hardy ended the Tigers' scoring drought with a goal at the 7:09 mark to cut the deficit down to 7-3. 
 
* Dominican responded with six straight goals to close out the half and led 13-3 at the half. 
 
* The Chargers maintained their double-digit lead throughout the second half.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Hardy led the Tigers with a season-high three goals to go along with an assist to finish the day with four points.  She also controlled four draws and caused a turnover on defense.
 
* Freshman Payton Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) registered a season-high two goals.
 
* Wolstenholme finished with one goal and one assist for two points. 
 
* Freshman Rianna Shields (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) also scored for the Tigers with a solo score in the fourth quarter.
 
* For Dominican, Jordana Tomasetti led all scorers with five goals.  Grace DeStasio added three goals and an assist to end the day with four points.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 16th meeting between Holy Family and Dominican since the start of the 2009 season.  The Tigers are now 8-8 versus the Chargers in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, March 29 as the Tigers travel to face Georgian Court University in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
