Four Holy Family University student-athletes have earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly awards, the league office announced on Oct. 31.
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) – Women's Soccer Player and Defensive Player of the Week
Kilkenny led the backline for HFU, who shutout two regionally-ranked opponents, as she played all 90 minutes at center back in both 1-0 wins. The first victory came in a crucial league game at Jefferson on Tuesday, before the Tigers prevailed in their regular season finale against Molloy on Thursday.
Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) – Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Rowan scored the game-tying and game-winning goals at Jefferson on Wednesday. His goals came 1:53 apart deep into the second half, securing the 2-1 victory for HFU against its local rival. The sophomore also had an assist in. Monday's 3-0 win at Goldey-Beacom, giving him a five-point week.
Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) – Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Pudlo made five saves Tuesday's victory at Jefferson, with her shutout proving vital in the 1-0 score-line.
Isabella Mosquera (West Chicago, Ill./Saint Charles East) – Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Mosquera was a standout in two wins, leading both matches in blocks as she totaled 10 for an average of 1.43 per set. She added 19 kills for a total of 30.5 points, good for 4.4 points per set.
The freshman first posted seven kills and five blocks at Georgian Court on Tuesday, before leading all players with 12 kills, five blocks and a season-high five aces in Saturday's triumph over CACC North leader Bloomfield.
