How It Happened

* Two first half goals were all the Tigers would need in this one.  The first goal came in the 16th minute when senior Davis Habilaj (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) connected on his third goal of the season and third goal in two games.  Habilaj received a cross pass from fellow senior Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm) who ran up the left side of the field to feed the pass into the box.

* Holy Family doubled its lead right before the half in the 41st minute.  Junior Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa./Abington) tallied his third goal of the season with a header shot after receiving a pass from the left side from senior Mohamed Elgayar (Philadelphia, Pa. (Egypt)/Northeast)

* Despite Goldey-Beacom holding a 14-9 edge in shots, the Holy Family defense limited the Lightning to just three shots on-target in which senior goalkeeper Mark Tobin (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (La Salle Univ.)) turned away to preserve the shutout victory.

Inside the Box Score

* Senior Georg Montag (Philadelphia, Pa., Archbishop Ryan) led the team with three shots, while Habilaj and Touey each added two shots for the Tigers.

* Tobin recorded his first shutout of the season and the 11th of his career.

All-Time Series
Today marked the 29th meeting between Holy Family and Goldey-Beacom since the start of the 1997 season.  The Tigers are now 17-12-0 versus the Lightning in that span.  Holy Family has won the last three meetings in the series.
