Tigers Fall to City Rival Rams



Philadelphia, Pa. –  The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to city rival Thomas Jefferson University by the score of 19-3 on Thursday afternoon at Ravenhill Field.

How It Happened
 
* A 16-0 run by the home team turned out to be the difference in the game as the Rams fired off 16 unanswered goals after the Tigers came within one score of tying the game.  At the 12:22 mark of the first half, freshman Fiona Steinmetz (Delran, N.J./Delran) scored for the Tigers to cut the lead down to 4-3 before the Rams responded with five straight goals to close out the half.  Jefferson led 9-3 at halftime.
 
* In the second half the Rams outscored the Tigers, 10-0, while holding Holy Family to just one shot the final 30 minutes of the game.
 
News and Notes
 
* Freshman Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) scored a pair of goals in her second game with the team.  She also controlled three of the team's 10 draws.
 
* Junior Maura Coleman (Lower Moreland, Pa./Little Flower) led the Tigers with a game-high five ground balls and caused a turnover on defense.
 
* Sophomore Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic) finished with two ground balls and led the team with four draws.
 
* Jefferson's Erin Eckert finished with a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists.  Eckert also controlled a game-high six draws.  Carina Raymond also scored five goals for the Rams.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 23rd meeting between Holy Family and Jefferson since the start of the 2009 season.  The Tigers are now 6-17 versus the Rams in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, April 28 as the Tigers travel to face Wilmington University in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
