Women’s Volleyball Picked 2nd in CACC Preseason Poll

New Haven, Conn. – The Holy Family University women's volleyball was picked to finish second in the Spring 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara on Friday.

Holy Family received 39 points in the poll and three first-place votes, however the Tigers were edged out by Georgian Court University by one point for the top spot in the poll.  The Lions totaled 40 points and had four first-place votes.

The traditional fall CACC Women's Volleyball season was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but administrators throughout the conference worked hard to ensure a spring season was made available for schools interested in competing.  Seven teams will be taking part in the spring session.

Felician University finished third in the poll with 30 points and was followed by Caldwell University with 26 points.  In fifth place, Nyack College totaled 23 points while Concordia College (16) and Dominican College (15) round out the poll in sixth and seventh place respectively.

Holy Family opens the spring season on Friday, Feb. 26 at Caldwell.  The Tigers will compete in six matches this spring; all versus conference opponents.

The last time we saw the Tigers the team advanced to the 2019 CACC championship match versus Georgian Court and earned the program's second straight bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament.  The Tigers reached the East Region semifinals marking the first CACC women's volleyball program to reach the semifinals in back-to-back years.
