Tigers Clinch CACC South Division Regular Season Title



Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University women's volleyball team clinched at the very least a share of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division Regular Season Title after defeating city rival Chestnut Hill College, 3-1, on Tuesday night at the Sorgenti Arena.  The win also secured the top overall seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament.

How It Happened
 
* Holy Family picked up its seventh straight victory after rallying in the fourth set to defeat the Griffins.  Chestnut Hill erased a 12-8 deficit and went on to lead 16-14.  The Tigers then ripped off five straight kills to recapture the lead at 19-16.  Senior Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) recorded three of the five kills during the run. The Griffins responded by scoring three of the next four points to make the score 20-19.  However, Holy Family went on to score the final five points of the set, including three points off Chestnut Hill errors, to win the set at 25-19.
 
* Holy Family dropped the first set before winning the next three sets to win its 15th conference match of the season. After committing nine errors in the first set on the attack, the Tigers totaled just 11 errors over the final three sets.  The team finished with 50 kills and an attack percentage of .233.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Johnson had a career night as she set a new career-high with 14 kills.  She finished with an impressive .478 attack percentage after committing just three errors on 23 total attacks.
 
* Sophomore Natasha Yanief (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) finished with nine kills; one shy of her career-high. Yanief had an attack percentage of .421 after recording just one error on 19 total attacks.  Junior Allyssa Hartney (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) also totaled nine kills in the match.
 
* Senior Morgan Silks (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) recorded a match-high 45 assists to go along with nine digs.
 
* Sophomore Faith Zehnder (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) led the match with 16 digs, while junior Maeve Boylan (Ridley Township, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) reached double-digit digs as well with 11.
 
* For Chestnut Hill, Henielys Ramos finished with a match-high 15 kills, while Erika Dubosky added 10 kills.  Mia Caporellie led the team with 43 assists to go along with nine digs.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 29th meeting between Holy Family and Chestnut Hill since the start of the 2007 season.  The Tigers are now 27-2 versus the Griffins in the all-time series.
 
Postseason Picture
Holy Family officially clinched the top overall seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament.  The Tigers will host a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Nov. 16 when the postseason begins.
 
Regular Season Champions
The win tonight also claimed at the very least a share of the CACC South Division Regular Season Title.  A win in the team's next match with secure the regular season title outright.  This marks the program's fifth regular season title.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 4 as the Tigers host the University of the Sciences in a CACC contest. Match time is set for 6 p.m.
