Tigers Edged by Eagles in CACC Semifinals, 1-0



Waterbury, Conn. – The Holy Family University men's soccer team saw its season come to an end after suffering a 1-0 setback in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semifinals to top-seed Post University on a very rainy and windy Friday morning at LaMoy Field.  The fifth-seeded Tigers wrap up their season at 8-10-2 overall.

How It Happened
 
* One kick turned out to be the difference in the game as Post scored the game's lone goal in the 27th minute.  Alvaro Sanchez connected on his team-leading 12th goal of the season as Sergio Diaz assisted on the score.
 
* The Post defense limited the Tigers to just five shots with three on-target.  The Eagles finished the game with 15 shots and seven on-net.

* Senior goalkeeper Mark Tobin (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (La Salle Univ.)) recorded six saves in net for the Tigers.  Tobin concludes the season with a career-high 70 saves and finishes his career with 222 saves; fourth most in program history.  He also finishes his career with a goals against average of 1.54; second lowest in the program's Division II era.  In addition, Tobin's 29 career victories rank tops in the team's Division II era. 
 
* Senior Davis Habilaj (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) concludes the season as the team's leading scorer with 16 points.  Habilaj scored seven goals and totaled two assists in 16 games.  Junior Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa./Abington) also led the team with seven goals; setting a career-high.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 27th meeting between Holy Family and Post since the start of the 1999 season.  The Tigers are now 11-13-3 versus the Eagles in the all-time series.
 
Holy Family in the CACC Tournament
The Tigers were appearing in their third straight CACC semifinal.  Holy Family is now 6-10-3 all-time in the CACC Tournament in 13 overall appearances since joining Division II in 2003.
