Tigers Fall to Wildcats in CACC Action



Newark, Del. – The Holy Family University women's soccer team suffered its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) setback of the season after falling to Wilmington University by the score of 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

How It Happened
 
* Wilmington scored two goals late in the second half to break up a scoreless tie.  In the 30th minute, Kasie Lambert scored her third goal of the season after the Wildcats were awarded a penalty kick after a Holy Family foul in the box. Wilmington doubled its lead in the 38th minute when Jimena Garcia Risoto connected on her fifth goal of the season. 
 
* Wilmington tacked on another goal in the 71st minute to increase its lead to 3-0.  This time it was Krysta Memis scoring for the Wildcats; her fourth of the season.

*   Wilmington outshot the Tigers, 15-8, and held a 9-5 edge on shots on-goal.
 
* Senior goalkeeper Alayna McSeed (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) made five stops in net for the Tigers.  Sophomore Ceili' Courduff (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) made one save as she entered the game late in the second half.
 
* Senior Kait Findlay (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and sophomore Brenna McCarry (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) each led the Tigers with two shots apiece. 
 
* Wilmington's goalkeeper Emily Camp made four saves to finish the shutout. 
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 28th meeting between Holy Family and Wilmington since the start of the 2000 season.  The Tigers are now 21-7-0 versus the Wildcats in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 23 as the Tigers travel to face Nyack College in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.
