Game Recap

* The CACC Championship game lived up to expectations as an all-time classic between two city rivals.  The Tigers trailed by as many as seven points (22-15) at the 7:43 mark of the second quarter.  Holy Family surged to a 12-4 run over the remaining of the quarter to take a 27-26 lead at the half.  Junior Megan Hughes (Point Pleasant Boro, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro) scored eight of the team's 12 points during the run, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:43 left until halftime to make the score 25-24.

* Holy Family led the entire third quarter despite Jefferson tying the game on three separate occasions.  The Tigers led by as many as six points (44-38) after another three-pointer by Hughes at the 2:24 mark of the quarter.  Jefferson though followed with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 46-46 by quarters end.

* Ehling opened the scoring in the fourth with a three-pointer followed by a pair of free throws by Moore to give the Tigers a 51-46 advantage early on in the quarter. As the quarter progressed, the Rams grabbed the lead after a jumper from Haley Meinel made the score 56-55 with three minutes to play in regulation.  It was the Rams first lead since early on in the second quarter.

* Two possessions later the Tigers reestablished the lead after Moore came away with a steal leading to a pair of free throws.  With the Tigers ahead 57-56, the Rams responded with a three-pointer from Alynna Williams. A costly turnover by the Tigers on their next possession led to another three by Williams, which gave the Rams a 62-57 lead with one minute left on the clock.

* Outside a timeout after Williams' three-pointer, the Tigers cut the lead to 62-59 after Radley scored a basket.  On the ensuing Jefferson possession, the Holy Family defense made a stop but ended up turning the ball over on the other end of the court.

* Holy Family was forced to foul three straight times to get Jefferson to the free throw line with :13 seconds to play. The Rams split the two attempts to make the score 63-59.  The Tigers were unable to get off another shot as Jefferson forced another turnover to close out the game.
