Tigers Fall to Spartans in Non-Conference Action



Sparkill, N.Y. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest at Saint Thomas Aquinas College by the score of 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field.

How It Happened
 
* The Spartans took control of the game in a matter of a five-minute span.  Lachlan Wilkinson scored the game's first goal in the 26th minute, which jump-started the offense.  STAC followed with two additional goals by George Yusuff in the 28th minute and Luis Morales in the 31st minute. 
 
* STAC struck again in the 71st minute when Jose Robles came through with a goal to make the score 4-0.
 
* Junior Charles Afful (Philadelphia, Pa. (Ghana)/Northeast) spoiled the Spartans' shutout bid when he connected on his first goal of the season in the 86th minute.  Afful's goal was the first of his career.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 11th meeting between Holy Family and STAC dating back to the 1997 season.  The Tigers and Spartans are now 5-5-1 versus one another in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 8 as the Tigers travel to Nyack College to open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.  Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.
