How it Happened (vs. Fairmont State)
* Holy Family overcame an 8-2 deficit in the first set and chipped away at the Fairmont State thanks to a 7-1 run to grab its first lead of the set at 10-9.  The Tigers eventually won the set, 25-20.

*  The Tigers flipped the script in set two and opened with an 8-1.  Holy Family controlled the set and never allowed the Fighting Falcons to get back in the set despite a 5-1 surge by the hosts late in the set.

* In what started as a back-and-forth third set turned into a sided affair.  With the set tied 17-17, the Tigers six unanswered points to grab the biggest lead of the set.  Holy Family competed the sweep with a 25-19 victory.

How It Happened (vs. Pitt-Johnstown)
* Trailing 17-9 in the opening set, the Tigers used a 7-0 run to come within one point of the Mountain Cats.  However, that was as close as they would get as Pitt-Johnstown held off the Tigers rally to eventually take the set, 25-21.

* Holy Family tied the match with a 25-20 victory in set two.  The Tigers recorded a match-high 17 kills in the second set and committed only four errors for a .351 hitting percentage.  Senior Chase Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) and sophomore Carly Covington (Delmar, Md./Delmar) combined to record 11 of the team's 17 kills in the set.

* Pitt-Johnstown went on to win the next two sets by identical 25-20 scores to take the match. The Mountain Cats used late runs in each set to pull away from the Tigers.

News and Notes
* Covington recorded a career-high 17 kills to go along with 19 digs, one shy of her career-high, against Fairmont State. She followed that up with 14 kills and 11 digs versus Pitt-Johnstown.

* Wassel finished with 31 kills between the two matches, including a match-high 19 kills versus Pitt-Johnstown.  As a result, she is now 19 kills shy of tying the program's all-time mark of 1,398 kills set by former standout Jennifer O'Connor (2005-2008).  Wassel will enter her next match with 1,379 career kills.

* Freshman Morgan Silks (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) came through with back-to-back 40-plus assist performances to start her collegiate career.  Silks totaled 40 assists in the opener versus Fairmont State and totaled 43 assists against Pitt-Johnstown.
