Tigers Close Out Regular Season at Georgian Court



Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team closed out the regular season at Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match up on Sunday afternoon at the GCU Track & Field Complex.  The Tigers fell to the Lions, 22-7.

How It Happened
 
* The Georgian Court offense poured it on early to take a commanding lead in the first half.  With the score 4-2 in favor of the Lions, Georgian Court scored seven unanswered goals to grab an 11-2 lead by the 18:02 mark of the half. 
 
* Holy Family halted the run with a goal by sophomore Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), her second of the half, at the 16:46 mark.  However, the Lions tacked on six more goals increasing the lead to 17-3.  Junior Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) ended the Lions' run with a goal in the final three minutes to cap the scoring for the half.
 
* Georgian Court opened the second half with three straight goals to grab its biggest lead of the game at 20-4 by the 15:32 mark. 
 
Game Notes
 
* Brown finished the game with three goals to lead the Tigers.  She finished the year with 19 goals setting a new career-high.
 
* Senior Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored a goal late in the second half for her 50th score of the season.  She is one of eight players in program history to score 50 or more goals in a single season.  Bachmayer concluded her playing career fifth all-time in scoring with 174 points.  Her 122 career goals are sixth more in program history and her 52 career assists rank second most in the all-time leader board.
 
* Junior Caleigh Gallagher (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) finished with four ground balls and tied her season-high with three caused turnovers.  She set new career-highs this year with 32 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
 
* Senior Amber Frechette (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) made nine saves in her final collegiate game.  She totaled 326 saves over her career; third most in program history.
 
* Felix scored a pair of goals to set a new career-high with 31 points.  She finished the season with a career-high 29 goals to go along with two assists.
 
* Georgian Court's Xena Valenzuela totaled a game-high nine points on seven goals and two assists.  She also finished the game with five ground balls, three caused turnovers and five draw controls.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 19th meeting between Holy Family and Georgian Court dating back to the 2009 season.  The Tigers are now 9-10 versus the Lions in the all-time series.
