Tigers Fall to City Rival Rams



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on the road against city rival Jefferson by the score of 24-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Ravenhill Field.

How It Happened
 
* Jefferson opened the game on a 10-1 run and never looked back.  The Rams led by nine goals by the midway mark of the first half. 
 
* Senior Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) accounted for all three of the Tigers' first half goals.  Sophomore Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) scored the team's lone goal in the second half. 
 
* Jefferson led 13-3 at the half and went on to outscore the Tigers, 11-1, in the second half.  The Rams also fired 44 shots while limiting the Tigers to just 11 shots for the game.
 
Game Notes
 
* Bachmayer led the team with four points (3G/1A) while picking up four ground balls and controlling three draws. 
 
* Felix was among four Holy Family players to cause a turnover on defense, including juniors Caleigh Gallagher (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) and JoAnne Mamie (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and sophomore Casey Schweitzer (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington).  Mamie also added four ground balls, while Schweitzer picked up three.
 
* Samantha Ryder led the Rams with a game-high five goals to go along with nine draw controls.  Erin Eckert totaled a game-high seven points with three goals and four assists.  She also caused four turnovers. 
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 21st meeting between Holy Family and Jefferson (formerly Philadelphia University) since the start of the 2009 season.  The Tigers are now 6-15 versus the Rams in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Thursday, April 12 as the Tigers travel to face Felician University in a CACC contest. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
