How It Happened

* After a low scoring affair in the first half where Holy Family held a slight 26-23 edge at halftime both teams turned it on offensively in the second stanza.  The Tigers shot 30-percent from the field in the first half but went on to connected on over 45-percent of their shots in the second.  Meanwhile, the Griffins improved from 29-percent to 54-percent in the final 20 minutes.

* Chestnut Hill stole the lead from the Tigers for good late in the third quarter. The Griffins' Vicky Tumasz drained a three-pointer at the 2:56 mark to make the score 36-34.  Chestnut Hill would increase its lead to six points but say its lead dwindle down to one point (42-41) after senior Alexis Hofstaedter (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South (William & Mary)) knocked down a three-pointer to close out the score in the third quarter.

* In the fourth quarter the Griffins established a double-digit lead by the midway point with a 55-45 advantage.  Trailing by nine points (59-50) with 3:35 to play the Tigers went on a quick 8-0 run to come within one point of the Griffins' lead.  Sophomore Elizabeth Radley (Hainesport, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) capped the run with a three-pointer with 2:23 to play as Chestnut Hill led 59-58.

* Chestnut Hill held the Tigers at bay down the stretch outscoring its host 9-5 in the final two minutes to secure the victory.
