How It Happened

* Holy Family trailed by as many as nine points to start the second half and eventually overcame the deficit to tie the game at the 7:39 mark of the half.  Junior Mekhi Bryant (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsburg (Baltimore City C.C.)) knocked down a three to tie the game at 50-50.  After the Devils regained the lead on their next possession, the Tigers once again tied the game on a Bryant jumper.  However, USciences responded once more and recaptured its advantage.

* The Devils would go on to increase their lead to six points with 2:15 to play in regulation.  Holy Family chipped away at the lead thanks in part to Bryant who scored nine of the team's final 12 points in a two minute span.  Bryant scored a layup with :12 seconds remaining to bring the score within two points at 70-68.  With eight seconds left the Devils converted a pair of free throws to double their lead before freshman Terrell Jones (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) drained a three-pointer for the Tigers in the final second.  The three made the score 72-71 but time was against Holy Family as the Devils escaped with the one point victory.

* Holy Family held a 10 point advantage midway through the first half by the score of 22-12 before USciences closed out the half on a 24-7 run.  The Devils took a 36-29 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
