Rock, Ulmer Score Twice in Tigers Win Over Clippers



Philadelphia, Pa. - Brianna Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and Stefanie Ulmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley HS Center City) each scored two goals as the Holy Family University women's soccer team defeated visiting Concordia College, 5-1, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field during Homecoming and Alumni Day celebrations.

How It Happened
 
* Senior Shannon Metzler (Erial, N.J./St. Josephs (Hammonton)) opened the scoring for the Tigers as she connected on her third goal of the season in the 11th minute to give Holy Family the early 1-0 lead. Rock and freshman Audrey Esposito (Haddon Township, N.J./Camden Catholic) each set up the play.  
 
* Metzler's goal was the start of four Holy Family scores within a 17-minute span.  Ulmer scored her first of two goals in the 18th minute with freshman Hannah Derby (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) assisting on the play.  Five minutes later Rock came through with her first of two scores after receiving a through pass from junior Alyssa Christiansen (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent).  Ulmer then capped the run with a header shot in the 27th minute off a corner kick attempt to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead. 
 
* Concordia scored its lone goal in the 78th minute when Amanda Astudillo scored her second goal of the season with Kayla Lanza assisting on the play.
 
* Rock capped the scoring in the 86th minute when Rock scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season.  Freshman Grace Stackhouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) assisted on the score recording her first collegiate point. 
 
Inside the Box Score
Holy Family outshot Concordia, 18-10, on the afternoon with the Tigers coming up with 11 shots on-goal compared to only three by the Clippers.  Freshmen goalkeepers Emily Camp (Pittsgrove, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick) and Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) each split time in net for the Tigers.  Both made one save while in net.

Holy Family improved to 9-0-0 versus Concordia in the all-time series dating back to 2009 with the win in today's game.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 4 as the Tigers host Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Tiger Field.
