Tigers Fall to Rival Rams



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Jefferson by the score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Ravenhill Field.

How It Happened
 
* One goal turned out to be the difference in the game as Jefferson scored the game's lone goal in the 13th minute.  Jason Rocha connected on his third goal of the season after receiving a pass from Musa Kalombe to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.
 
* Holy Family had a couple of chances to tie the game late in the second half with shots on-goal in the 75th and 82nd minutes.  Freshman Davis Habilaj (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) got off a header shot but Jefferson goalkeeper Ben Sauer made the stop.  Sauer then stopped the latter shot by junior Matt Tracey (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) to preserve the one goal lead.
 
* Holy Family goalkeeper, junior Mark Pohl (Feasterville, Pa./Father Judge), as he made nine saves in net after facing 26 shots by the Rams. His nine saves on the day tied his career-high set last season.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 10th meeting all-time between Holy Family and Jefferson (formerly Philadelphia University) dating back to the 2008 season.  The Tigers are now 3-5-2 versus the Rams.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 30 as the Tigers host Concordia College in a CACC contest. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. at Tiger Field.  Saturday's game is part of Homecoming 2017 at Holy Family along with soccer alumni day.
