Game One: #2 Holy Family 9, #8 Post 6
Holy Family was the first to light up the scoreboard as the Tigers plated four runners in the bottom of the second inning.  Freshman Rachael Zeides (Woodbine, N.J./Ocean City) highlighted the inning with a three-run home run over the left field fence to cap the scoring.  It marked Zeides' second long ball of the season.

Post scored its first run of the game in the fourth inning, but Holy Family quickly erased that run with one of its own in the bottom of the inning.  Back-to-back doubles to lead off the inning by juniors Jen Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) and Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) gave the Tigers a 5-1 advantage.

However, in the fifth inning the Eagles came soaring back and went on to score four runs in the inning to tie the game at 5-5.  Post recorded three RBI singles in the inning and took advantage of four walks in the inning by Holy Family.

In the bottom of the inning the Tigers recaptured the lead thanks to a run scoring single by junior Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) as freshman Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge) scored the go-ahead run.  Marigliano led the inning off with a double to left-center field. Later in the inning sophomore Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) sent a pitch sailing of the right-center field fence to expand the Tigers' lead to 8-5.  Klem's two-run shot was her first of the season.

Holy Family would go on to edge out the Eagles in the final two frames and cling to a 9-7 victory.

Orozco (15-10) was the pitcher of record for the Tigers are she picked up her 15th win of the season.  Orozco pitched the final 2.1 innings of the game as she entered in relief of senior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) in the fifth inning.

Game Two: #7 Philadelphia 2, #8 Holy Family 1
After defeating Post the Tigers quickly shifted gears to a familiar opponent in Philadelphia.  The Tigers and Rams were facing one another for the second time this tournament with Holy Family coming away with a 5-0 victory in the first meeting on Thursday morning.

Philadelphia opened the game with back-to-back singles and later in the inning took advantage of a Holy Family fielding error leading to the game's first run.  Senior Gianna Bliss then followed with a single down the left field line to give the Rams a 2-0 lead after one inning.

Holy Family cut the lead in half later in the third inning.  Zeides led the inning off reaching base on an error by the Philadelphia shortstop.  Walters entered as a pinch-hitter and dropped down a sacrifice bunt that allowed Zeides to advance all the way to third base.  Trying to make a play at third, the throw by the Rams went sailing down the left field line to allow Zeides to score easily.

The score remained 2-1 until the very end as Stephanie Pepper held the Tigers to just five hits in seven innings of work.  She also went on to strikeout six batters.

Orozco (15-11) was just as impressive as she limited the Rams to six hits; three after the first inning.  She allowed two runs (1 earned) while striking out two hitters.

Junior Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) accounted for three of the team's hits as she went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
